Our Story

For SM2 founder Sean Moore II, a former collegiate athlete, recurring knee pain was never really the problem. It was what the pain was quietly beginning to take from him.

Being active had always been part of how Sean challenged himself, connected with others, and felt most like himself. Over time, he found himself competing less, not because he had to, but because managing the recovery afterward had become another burden to plan around. He was starting to lose pieces of who he was, not just from the pain, but from what managing it was costing him.

Then one day, after playing soccer in Los Angeles, Sean had a simple idea: what if recovery could happen through the clothing he was already wearing, even on the drive home? It brought him back to his college playing days, icing in the team van only to arrive with a bag soaked from leaking ice. He began to imagine a better way, one that could help active people manage recovery without sitting still or reorganizing their day. That idea became a prototype which led to a few revisions, and eventually a product Sean felt ready to share, culminating in SM2's Kickstarter campaign in 2025.

What started as an idea to make icing easier on the drive home has grown into a larger mission for SM2: to empower individuals to tackle life’s adventures stylishly with seamless recovery.
